3rd Standards.JPG

In a one-hour (approx.) visit to the planetarium, students are presented with a lesson that covers all of the above standards. The first 20-25 minutes is live interaction with the presenter. Students magically pull the moon closer to see that it is much brighter when it is closer to Earth. Moon phases are then covered followed by a 3D feel comparison of planet sizes and a scale model of our sun when compared to other stars. The reason for seasons is then presented and comparisons are made between summer and winter months.

Students are then taken on a solar system tour vicariously through young characters in the full dome show "Earth, Moon & Sun".  Click on the "SHOWS" tab above and check out the teaser of this show.

The total visit is about 70 minutes in length.
