Greetings from the
Forestview Planetarium!
About the Forestview Planetarium
The Forestview Planetarium opened in 2005 at Forestview Middle School in Baxter. For its first decade, it was mostly used by science classes in the Brainerd school district.
In 2017, the planetarium was approved for Innovation Funding by the region’s superintendents. This funding from Sourcewell enabled upgrades to the projection and lighting systems. It also let the planetarium open to schools across central Minnesota, giving many more students a chance to see the universe up close.
Today, the planetarium is fully funded and operated by Sourcewell, in partnership with the region’s schools and communities. Each year, thousands of students experience the wonders of our world here. All classrooms in Sourcewell's service area are welcome to visit at no cost!
